Final Self Portrait

ISO-100

These are my final self portraits. The favorite of different people is the second one, because it looks like the evil. You have the evil person, the shocked person, and the confused person. The other ones are just some of my picks that are okayish. My brilliant plan of the light and dark, light and dark sides, was a failure. Procrastination is horrible, don't ever do it. These are like last minute pictures, that I got trying to be different. I feel kind of happy with these because they are different.

These are some other possible self portraits. I like them, but there is nothing about directional lighting or anything abstract. I just don't know how to feel about these compared to the other ones.

These are my final attempts at my book cover recreation. The middle one is the one. I put the other two on there to kind of show that I had some difficulties. It took me some time to get the lighting right, but I finally got it right. It was a difficulty get the lighting power on the background even.  Other than that it was just getting the lights at the right power and location.

Thursday Feb. 16, 2016 Awesome Self Portrait Idea

Some of the best thinking happens at the most random of times. For my self portrait I got the crazy idea of doing time exposure. I want to have two half pictures of my face. One on the right and one on the left side. I would take one picture with one half of my face lit and then move over and light the other half of my face on the other side of the frame. Then on the side on the right, which would have the left side of my face lit I would do like a half halo kind of thing. Then on the left side, which would have the right side of my face lit up I would draw a devil horn. I really have no idea where this thought came from and I know it will be a giant pain, but I will get this picture done. Even if it kills me. I'm so exited to see how this will turn out now. I just feel like this is so hard to follow unless you're me because these are just like quick random thoughts that are coming to my brain.

Also since all of our flashes have seemed to just disappear I plan on doing time exposure to get the flashes, so people still have flashes to used for everything else.

These are the pictures of the tech theater kids getting macbeth stuff together. Part of the problem with getting these pictures was when we went in there they were't really working on stuff so they rushed and started working on things. At the point of working on things so they didn't have any thing solid to work on other than looking at paper. The lighting was really strange in there. It was like it was blue lights and not regular lights. I had a flash, but the lighting still looked weird. I really should have shot at 1600 ISO because then I could have shot at a faster shutter speed.
I really have mixed emotions about these pictures cause they look ok, but they definitely aren't the best.

These are the pictures from the girls soccer game. I felt better this game because I had one game that I had already shot. I learned this game to make sure I wear lots of layers, not only on my top half but my bottom half as well. Girls soccer is definitely different from boys soccer; they don't travel near as much and tend to be a lot more careful with the ball, like they think that they are going to break it. The lighting seemed a bit different from the last game I shot. It seemed like it was brighter than the last and I don't know why. I was able to speed my shutter speed up and my pictures were still exposed properly. To me girls are harder to shoot because they contemplate what they are going to do for too long. Then they spontaneously do something, which is hard for me to get pictures of because they don't really show indication of doing something until they do it.

The problem I had with this game is my focus. It didn't want to focus on the people. I have several that would have been great pictures if they would have been focused on the players. This really annoyed me. These pictures are all ok to me, but the second one. It is a good picture, but where the girls hands are placed. Jv really sucks compared to varsity, even then they didn't play that well, so the pictures didn't turn out to well.

Book Cover

These are the attempts at recreating the book cover. This picture was very interesting. I only had one flash because I really wasn't thinking about shooting my book cover recreation. For the lighting I had one 600 flash, one flashlight, and the ceiling light. I put a snoot on the flashlight and the flash because they were the ones that were giving the side angles. I could use light stands, but it would be difficult considering this is a corc board that I painted white. I could use claps, or I could use people to hold them. I had the flash in slave, so it would go off. I had to cover the auto flash on the camera because if not the board turned completely white. The white in the middle would be caused by the flashes, but since I didn't have two flashes I had two different lights, so the power of the lights were different. That made one part of the picture really really bright. I'm going to work on it some more this weekend.

These are the pictures from the Hallsville soccer game.  In the beginning I was a little confused because I know absolutely nothing about soccer. As the games went on though, I realized that soccer is easier to shoot than football. Of course there are the action shots of the people on the field actually playing and then there are ones that aren't playing. The last picture just shows that I realized that like football you can't shoot all the way across the field. I found out that I really enjoy shooting soccer over other sports.

These are the second try at getting pictures of the Brown twins.  I was trying to get pictures of them during class, so it was a little bit hard. Trying to get both of their faces in one picture was really hard because one would always have her back to me when they were fighting.  The lighting was actually pretty good for the building. I knew when I got these pictures that they wouldn't work, and I would have to go back and get some more. I'm tired of the stories being about the same people. This is the third assignment about these twins. This is getting crazy.
