Recreation Set Up

The top of the hands will be the hardest because they are the brightest part of the picture. I know it will take time and patience for me to get the picture right. I feel really confident in this project unlike the creeper project.

Photo Recreation

This is the photo is the photo that I want to recreate for this six weeks. I need to use a flash on a flash stand, with a piece of dark paper to block the light from the top half of the person. I know that it will be interesting to shoot this because my mom will not want to put a tutu on. This is only one of the pictures I want to recreate. Most of them I want to recreate are of dance; it definitely shows my love for dance.

I took the camera out in class and walked around the school looking for different things. I started at the pond and got some pictures that were okay. The picture of the tree I was wanting to get the spiderweb in the bark better but I couldn't get any closer to it. I also had the same problem with the worm and ants.  The picture of the plant with the wood in the background was when I wanted to get a picture of the wood but it would not focus on it.  The picture of the spider is underexposed, but when I made my shutter speed slower it was over  exposed. After looking back now I realize that the flower was in the shade when I shot it, but I was to oblivious to notice that my ISO was still at 100, but I set my shutter speed lower so I was not over exposed. The tennis ball I just happened to stumble upon. I realize that it is nothing special, but I thought it would be a nice picture. The fence in that picture was thre hard part. It was hard totry to get it to focus on the ball and the fence and not just the fence. While I was out I tried my habd at tennis photos, but none were even worth putting on my blog. All the pictures I stopped the motion, but not at the right moment. The foreground was in focus but other than that it was bad. I know now that I need to work on my timing of my photographs more.

These are my final pictures for the creeper project. First off they are underexposed, but if I exposed it properly the shadow disappeared. I figure that if I would shoot it later at night I could have been able to expose it properly. I tried doing my pictures from about four-thirtyish to sixish. I had to try many different things with the shadow to get it to look right. The problem behind that was getting my lights in the proper place. The first picture is the final picture I like. The second and third are some of my underexposed images. The final picture is overexposed.

Experiments

This was my experimentation with the camera at my dad's house. The first picture I like the most becasue it is exposed properly. The second picture I didn't have enough lighting to expose it right without making the ISO so high that it made the picture look grainy. I wish I could have had better lighting, but I used what I had. Also the background in the second picture is horrible. When I got the picture I really didn't focus on the background (a no no) and just got the picture. Now that I look back and reflect on it I see the flaws in it. I realized with these experiments how important the lighting is. Without lighting the pictures look bad because of the ISO. These experiments taught me a lot of the simple little thiongs of photography.

This pictures I took on a rainy day at school. The ISO was set at 400 for all the pictures. All the pictures but the flag were set at 1.8 on the aperture. The flag was shot at 11 on aperture. The shutter speed varies on the picture. I found it seems easier and more fun to shoot pictures on a day it is rainy. It makes setting the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed easier. Also the lighting is so much prettier. The first picture of the rain and the flags are underexposed by about a stop. The plants are exposed right, whichmakes me happy. Taking pictures of the rain hitting the ground was interesting. I find it so cool though how the water hits the ground. The flag pictures I knew I had to get when I saw them blowing in thewind. I know that I could have captured a better image of the flags that would look so much better. Overall I would say the rainy day was good for me.

I was sent out to shoot something. I got some pretty good pictures of a couple of things. The grasshopper pictures are the best to me. I wish however that I could have gotten more pictures of different things. I did find out that I am probably better at nature than people.

This was my failed attempt at my creeper project. The whole lighting was wrong. I don't know what to do to fix it. I learned that setting up the lighting is a difficult job to do. I believe that I need to make my aperture up more, like on 22. Now I have to go back and redo it.

These are my creeper project practice pictures. I know now that my subject should be ten to fifteen feet off the wall. The creeper also needs more work, because the person didn't work so well. The flash set up was not right at all. Now I know that the flash set up was all wrong. The flash need to be on one side of me and facing two different directions.
